As you know, one of the necessary and not only sufficient conditions to convert a peer-to-peer (P2P) system into a blockchain is that its degree of freedom is equal to one. This means that the general components of that system can be seen and reported (View and Confirmation). In this case, each component of the blockchain can be called a ledger.
When the degree of freedom of the system is high, subsequently its health (integrity) will also be high. On the other hand, as the degree of freedom of the system decreases, the health of the system will be damaged and the system will suffer corruption. However, corruption in peer-to-peer systems will not be considered as a state of non-existence of financial health (Integrity).
Corruption in a peer-to-peer system with a low degree of freedom includes the efforts of each of the system’s components to achieve financial health (integrity). This means that when the system has a low degree of freedom, each of the components of the system make efforts and actions to create financial health and increase the degree of freedom. No system is perfect by itself. Therefore, if the degree of freedom of the system components is one, by reporting the defects and addressing them, it is possible to correct the system and improve and evolve it. If the degree of freedom is low, due to the lack of reporting of problems, there is no determination to correct the defects and the situation is getting worse day by day. Democracy is a system full of flaws in all kinds of government systems. But in general, it has been accepted more than other government systems in the whole world. It is only because it has the power to correct itself and it has been assumed to be incomplete from the beginning.
The concept of corruption throughout history and different states
About 50 years ago (1968), Samuel Huntington pointed out this key point in human societies and systems in an article titled Corruption and Modernization:

Accordingly, popular culture has reduced the ugliness of corruption in different societies as much as possible. For example, the common people of the countries under pressure like this;

- Greece: a small package (fakelaki)
- Syria: Money for a cup of coffee
- Egypt: cigarette money
- Iran money for tea or sweets
It is noteworthy that by proposing theories such as “corruption as reform” by Huntington or “corruption as oil in the wheels of development” by Leff in 1964 and Lui in 1985, none of the theorists This type of thinking has no desire to reduce the ugliness of corruption and push the fight against it to the sidelines. What was more intended is to paint the idea that the fight against corruption alone is futile.
Because corruption is not the cause, it is the effect itself, and its causes must be treated first.
Corruption of components as a violation of the system law
With the low degree of freedom of a peer-to-peer P2P system, each of the components is trying to implement a move within their limits that will give them more freedom of action. Although the components of a peer-to-peer system only include bits and bytes, behind each one is a human being who needs to move and has needs and interests. In fact, this movement is considered to increase the freedom of that specific component. But due to the low degree of freedom of action of the system, the movement of a component to create a greater degree of freedom is considered a violation of the law of the whole system and as a result corruption.
It is quite clear that the said corruption is the movement of a component of the system (Individual) against the law and interests of the whole system (Whole). That particular component moves to create a greater degree of freedom (to satisfy its own interests); But this degree of freedom will not be more for that part in the direction of the law and the interests of the whole system, and this means corruption.
Low degrees of freedom against the overall system’s interests
What is certain and can be proven is that a low degree of freedom will never be in the interests of the overall system. In short, it can be argued that when the degree of freedom is low, someone has created this expediency and law for the whole system. Undoubtedly, that part of the system or a group of parts that have established these rules and created a low degree of freedom for the system, themselves have a higher degree of freedom. Because if their degree of freedom was equal to the degree of freedom of other parts, they would not have the possibility to establish these laws and expediency. Therefore, there are components or components in the system that have a higher degree of freedom than other components, and this concept shows corruption.
Therefore, it can be said that the low degree of freedom will only be in the direction of interests and interests of the component or components with a higher degree of freedom. In fact, these low degrees do not work in the interests of the whole system, which proves our proposition about peer-to-peer (P2P) systems that a low degree of freedom is never beneficial for a holistic system.
